Ornitholestes hermanni

So today we have late Jurassic coelurosaur from the famous Morrison formation - Ornitholestes hermanni. Although, it seems that such projection does not look too alive. That's why next time I'll draw him more close to life position.  

Many of the early reconstruction depicted Ornitholestes with a smooth elongated snout, like the Compsognathus. The researchers then came to the false conclusion that he had a small horn or crest on the nose (bone, yeah). Now it is known that the skull of Ornitholestes there are no such entities. So what you see here is just the expansion of the soft tissues. The top head shows another example simulation of nasal crest, consisting of the feather tuft on the nose.
